Mundelein High School
The Work
BERGER partnered with Wight Construction on the Mundelein High School project, supporting the development of a new field house, school additions, two storm traps, and new parking lots.
Scope included mass earthmoving operations, storm sewer and sanitary installation, building pad preparation, and ongoing site grading across a highly active and constrained site.
The Challenge
The project came with a strict schedule and an extremely limited footprint.
With building additions, parking lot work, storm trap operations, trucking logistics, and material staging all happening simultaneously, the team had very little room to maneuver while still maintaining progress and site safety.
In addition, the work needed to stay on track to support the school’s operational timeline.
The Result
BERGER crews stayed ahead of the challenges through coordination, adaptability, and proactive planning.
By managing multiple operations at once and maintaining constant communication with Wight Construction, the team kept the project moving despite tight conditions and logistical complexity.
The project also created an opportunity to maximize resources locally, with excess material from the site being reused at the Village Green golf course project in Mundelein.
From utilities and grading to logistics and scheduling, the Mundelein High School project reflects BERGER’s commitment to solving problems, staying flexible, and delivering under pressure.
