The Work
At the CLC Outdoor Sports & Roundabout project, BERGER was brought on to complete full site development for the College of Lake County’s outdoor sports complex and roundabout at the main campus entrance.
Scope included installation of site utilities—storm, sanitary, and water—along with mass grading for the roundabout, baseball and softball fields, and foundation excavation for a new concession facility.
The project also featured 8,500 linear feet of underdrain across the athletic fields, supporting long-term performance and playability.
The Challenge
Located at the primary north entrance to campus, the CLC Outdoor Sports & Roundabout project came with a tight timeline to complete and reopen the roundabout to traffic.
With constant activity surrounding the site and unpredictable spring weather conditions, delays weren’t an option.
The team needed to stay flexible, adjust quickly, and keep progress moving—without compromising safety or quality.
